Played tourist in Toronto. 🥹 Some of the place Played tourist in Toronto. 🥹 Some of the places I finally went to took me 9.5 years to get to. I live in the GTA. Toronto isn’t far… but somehow, when you have a kid, routines, responsibilities, work, and a million other things that make up everyday life, it can feel far enough. And I did it without a kiddo this time. ❤️ I’m writing this because I know for some people, this might sound like “okay… you went to Toronto. Big deal. But dont you live in Toronto?” But some of you will know exactly what I mean. You know what it takes to step outside your routine and actually plan a day around the things sitting on your “one day” list. Sometimes it even takes a friend flying in from somewhere else to make you finally do the things that are right there a train ride away ! Because how do you do it alone? We become such slaves to comfort, routine and familiarity that the minute we step outside it, that creepy little “what am I even doing?” feeling crawls right up to our skin. And yet… there’s this other part of you that desperately wants to experience life. To wander. To see the view. To sit somewhere new. To be a tourist in a city you’ve called home for years. And then life happens again. So what difference it makes if I havent see the view from Riverdale for years of being here… or if i couldnt to Art gallery that was on my list! And honestly… what’s the big deal? But maybe this year, I finally did. ❤️ couldn’t stat still sunset but may be next’ year ! Maybe that’s enough. Maybe life isn’t always about doing more. Maybe sometimes it’s just about finally doing that one thing you’ve been saying, “I’ll do it someday.” #pardesi #immigrant #toronto #torontotodo #yyz dress @__h__x__m__
