As another school year starts, so do the IEP quest As another school year starts, so do the IEP questions, new goals, meetings, and now—preparing for our autism developmental assessment next week. And honestly, it’s emotionally exhausting. There’s something heavy about sitting down and making a list of what your child can’t do yet. The areas where they need support can sometimes feel so much bigger on paper than their strengths. But those strengths are there. You know them because you live them every single day. You know the little wins that don’t make it onto a form. The progress that doesn’t fit neatly into a milestone checklist. The things your child does that might look small to someone else but feel enormous to you. And maybe that’s the part other parents don’t always see. We’re not all parenting from the same starting point, working with the same challenges, or living in the same swim lane. So if this time of year feels heavy for you too—especially if you’re an autism parent—just know you’re not alone. 🤍 #autismjourney #autsimawareness
