Unlearning productivity and social media reality ?Maternity leave after Ayaan taught me something I never expected: I had to unlearn the definition of productivity I had learnt over years ! I struggled with the simplest things. Not making the bed. Still being in pajamas at noon. Not checking things off my mental to-do list. Feeling like I hadn’t done anything that day. But I was taking care of a baby. I was navigating a completely new version of myself. And somehow, I still felt like I needed to prove that I was being “productive.” Slowly, I learned to give myself grace. A clean house wasn’t a measure of my worth. A completed checklist wasn’t proof that my day mattered. And rest didn’t mean I was being lazy. Social media can make this even harder. We see the organized homes, the productive mornings, the perfectly put-together lives — and start wondering why ours doesn’t look like that. But we’re comparing our real life to someone else’s highlight reel. No one shows 100% of their life.
